Semiya Upma / Vermicelli Upma / Instant vermicelli Upma

      Semiya is rich in carbohydrates that are essential for energy production in the body.The fat content in vermicelli is almost zero.They are fat-free and cholesterol free.



INGREDIENTS

Semiya - 1 cup

Water - 3 Cups + If needed

Ghee - 1 Tablespoon

Oil - 1 Spoon

Mustard seeds - A pinch

Urad dal - 1 teaspoon

Garlic cloves - 2

Onion - 1

Green chili - 1

Mint leaves - Required

Turmeric powder - A pinch

Salt - Required



METHOD

1. Add a tablespoon of ghee in a pan.



2. Put Semiya and roast well till it comes light golden color.


3. Take out semiya in another plate.


4. Boil water on the same pan and add roasted semiya and cook well for about 10 minutes.

5. Remove cooked semiya.



6. Keep aside on another plate.

7. Heat the pan and add oil. Add mustard seeds and urad dal and wait a while for mustard crackling.



8. Add chopped garlic, green chili, onion, mint leaves and saute well then add turmeric powder.



9. Saute well and add little water.



10. Add salt and cook well.



11. Put cooked semiya on the pan.



12. Mix well.
