Dates Milk

  Dates provide energy for anemic patients. Dates prevent abdominal cancer. Dates lower night blindness. INGREDIENTS Milk - 200 ml Dates - 2 Black raisins - 3 Cardamom - 2 Brown sugar - As required Cashew nuts - 2 (Garnish) METHOD 1. Take all the ingredients. 2. Boil milk in a vessel. 3. Add Chopped dates, raisins, brown sugar and opened cardamon pods. 4. Stir well and cook on low flame. Mash the dates and raisins using ladle or spoon. After a good boil, turn off the stove. 5. Beetroot Idly

       Beetroots get their rich color from  betalains , which are water soluble antioxidants. Betalains have  chemo preventive abilities  against some cancer cell lines. INGREDIENTS Idli Batter(Rice & Urad dal) - 1 Cup Grated Beetroot - 1/2 Cup Grated Ginger - 1 Teaspoon METHOD 1. Take all the ingredients. 2. Add grated beetroot and ginger in idli batter. Mix well. 3. DIRECTION TO STREAMING # Take your idli steamer, add 2 cups of water and heat the water. # Take Idly mould plate. Pour beetroot idly batter on wet cloth which is gently placed on idly moulds. # Place the idly mould plate on steamer. # Close the steamer using lid.  # Cook for about 12 minutes (approximately). (Here I made ordinary idli along with 3 beetroot idli). 4. TAKE OUT # Open the lid and check whether idly is cooked using knife. Take all the ingredients. 2. Add grated beetroot and ginger in dosa batter and mix well. ( Pour water if needed). 3. Add Ghee (or) oil in dosa tawa. Pour beetroot dosa batter on tawa and spread it evenly in a circular way to it thin. 4. Gently turn back the dosa and cook for some minutes till it attains its beautiful golden color. 5. Serve hot.
