Homemade Beetroot syrup

        Beetroots get their rich color from betalains, which are water soluble antioxidants. 
    
    Betalains have chemo preventive abilities against some cancer cell lines.





INGREDIENTS                                                                                                                                                                                            
Beetroot juice - 1 Cup

Sugar - 6 Spoons



METHOD

1.Peel beetroot skin and cut into small pieces.


2. Add the pieces in a mixer jar.


3. Grind into a smooth puree.

                                                            
 4. Filter the puree using strainer.                                                                              

5. Take juice into the hot pan and add sugar.
      

 
            
6. Stir well and allow to cook for about 20 minutes to get a syrup like structure.

                                                                   
7. Store the syrup in a container.(Use within 2 days)
           


Just a spoon of beetroot syrup in some sweet recipe gives excellent taste and  wonderful garnish to that dessert.
