Beetroot Semiya Payasam / Beetroot Semiya Dessert

     Beetroots get their rich color from betalains, which are water soluble antioxidants. 

    Betalains have chemo preventive abilities against some cancer cell lines.



INGREDIENTS

Semiya(Vermicelli) - 1 cup
Ghee - 2 table spoons
Water - 3 Cup + if needed 
Sugar - 1.5 cup
Homemade Beetroot syrup - 1 Table spoon
Cardamon powder - A pinch
Cashew nuts - 4 

METHOD

1. Add a table spoon of ghee in a pan.

2. Roast cashew nuts until it reach golden color.

3. Take out nuts in another bowl.

4. Add a tablespoon of ghee in a pan.


5. Put Semiya and roast well till it comes light golden color.


6. Take out semiya in another plate.

7. Boil water on the same pan and add roasted semiya and cook well for about 10 minutes.



8. Add sugar.




9. Cook well.


10. Add tempting homemade beetroot syrup, cardamon powder and roasted cashew nuts and mix well.
