Beetroot Chapati
Beetroots get their rich color from betalains, which are water soluble antioxidants. Betalains have chemo preventive abilities against some cancer cell lines.
Zinc from wheat flour helps in the activity of and enzyme in our body that helps to produce VITAMIN A, which is useful in treating night blindness.
Beetroot chapati gives the same taste as regular chapati with delicious color.
INGREDIENTS
Beetroot puree - As required
Wheat flour - 1 Cup
Ghee - 1 Tablespoon
Cumin seeds - 1 Teaspoon
Turmeric powder - 1 Teaspoon
Salt - As required
Chili powder - 1 Tablespoon
Oil - Little
PRE - PREPARATION
# Peel beetroot skin and cut into small pieces.
# Add the pieces in a mixer jar.
# Grind into a smooth puree.
METHOD
1. Take wheat flour, ghee, cumin seeds, turmeric powder, salt, chili powder, in a large bowl.
2. Add in beetroot puree.
3. Mix well and add paste little by little as required.
4. Make soft dough.
5. Grease with oil and rest for an hour.
6. Make into small balls and grease with some oil.
7. Flatten the balls.
8. Place the rolled chapati on heat tawa and cook both sides.
9. Grease with little ghee for taste.
10. Serve hot.
